Herbal Tinctures
Herbal tinctures are one of the earliest forms of medicine. Tinctures are a concentrate made from the medicinal part of a plant, including the flowers, leaves, roots, and berries. The plant is steeped in a menstruum (a combination of water and pharmaceutical grade, organic, non-GMO alcohol). After the proper amount of time, the herbalist strains the plant matter from the water-alcohol solution, leaving all the medicinal plant pharmacology behind in the tincture.
Almost all of the herbal tinctures we sell at Flowersong Herbals and Massage are made right here in Durango, Colorado, using plants harvested from the Southwest. You can make tinctures as a single herb extract or create blends and formulas using multiple herbs. Our full line of herbal formulas can help with specific ailments, or you can use them to promote overall, whole-body health.
Purchase our tinctures online or visit our downtown location in Durango, Colorado. A free, 15-minute consultation is included with each purchase of a 4-ounce herbal tincture. We recommend taking most tinctures over a 2-week period for acute aliments, or over a period of a few months for chronic complaints. Dosage can be anywhere from 3 to 7 droppers diluted in warm water taken 2 to 3 times daily.
